Split Rock Jumping Tour and Chisholm Challenge

Susan Altshuler on Bandit

By Dan Roark

A group of people from New Hope went to Fort Worth last Saturday, the 16th, to watch both the junior/amateur Split Rock jumping events in the morning and afternoon. Then the next to the last night of the professional Split Rock jumping competition Saturday night. Susan Altshuler, New Hope instructor, was participating in the amateur events. I am pleased to report that we were able to watch her have fifth place and first place rides. A few of our group were there on Sunday to see her follow those with a second place ride.                                                                                                                                                                                                          Congratulations Susan!

An additional plus of the weekend was that the events were at the John Justin Arena and the Will Rogers Coliseum on the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo grounds. Which is precisely where Chisholm Challenge will be. We had a chance to see where our stalls are going to be for the New Hope horses that will compete in the events and get the lay of the land.

And we were able to watch a lot of good riders ride a lot of beautiful horses. Which is the next best thing to being able to ride.

Ride on and ride for hope.
